    Headquartered in Shanghai, HSBC Life Insurance Company Limited was established in August 2009. It is a 50-50 joint venture between HSBC Insurance (Asia) Limited and The National Trust Ltd. The Company offers comprehensive insurance services covering protection, retirement, children’s education, legacy planning and wealth growth to individuals and families.

    We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of Assistant RC Manager, HSBC Life Insurance.

    In this role, you will:

    - Asisting senior regulatory adviors in providing compliance support, advice and guidance to the first and second lines of defence relative to assigned regulation(s), regulatory requirements and/or compliance risks.
    - Assists in identifying any possible compliance deficiencies related to assigned regulation(s), regulatory requirements and/or compliance risks.
    - Provides support to compliance projects which may include gathering and documenting functional requirements and reviewing key technical documentation.
    - Provide support to the team in order to ensuring that risks are appropriately identified, reported and recorded in a timely manner.
    - To provide a quality day to day compliance service to a number of key business units and advisory services to the Lines of Business.
    - To support execution and reporting of trend analysis metrics and all other available risk outputs.
    - Work with the wider compliance functions to identify emerging regulatory risk and to enhance and expand reportable issues.
    - To assist management in undertaking research, collation and analysis of data management information (MI) for presenting to the regulatory governing bodies and Senior management team .
    - Assist to handle regulatory matters including on-site inspections, meetings, visits, surveys, administrative approvals, product filings, policy imperatives, banking association affairs, etc.
    - To discharge the accountabilities set out in the GSM and Compliance FIM by pro-actively assisting management in identifying and containing compliance risk, monitoring, reporting and certification, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.
    - Assist Compliance Management in their support of Business Management in fulfilling their responsibilities in complying with the spirit and letter of all regulatory requirements and key Group requirements, as established by Group Compliance..
    - To support, advise on and monitor all aspects of the business in order that line management can ensure that these business lines are conducted in accordance with the letter and spirit of all applicable laws, rules, regulations, codes of practice, Group Standards Manual and Compliance section of the Global Risk FIM.
    - To support and provide RC advice on INSH core system project as the RC Risk Steward.


    To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

    Experience

    - Experience of dealing with regulatory matters and confident interaction with regulators.
    - Working experience of leading or managing projects.
    - Good compliance, operation or audit background, good knowledge of the local laws, regulations and regulatory requirements, being familiar with the AML regulations and practic.
    - Exposure to demanding operational environments to gain insight into the most effective compliance management applications.
    - Working across all levels of the organization to understand cross-functional linkages and interdependencies, as well as the implications of compliance at both a strategic level and at the business unit level.

    Skills

    - Acadamic Background: University (BA) or (BS) .
    - Demonstrated board-based business knowledge and the regulatory requirements of the insurance industry, which helps to determine solutions around appropriate compliance measures, processes, monitoring and management.
    - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to articulate the case for compliance management in the language of business.
    - Understand and interpret complex business requirements, and ability to apply entrepreneurial and commercial thinking to make robust/tough recommendation which may be contrary to the business wishes.
    - Ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence at the most middle level in the organization, and to drive changes.
    - Demonstrated ability to assess Compliance trends, both internally and externally.
    - Proven ability to prioritize competing demands.
    - Proficient in written/spoken English and Chinese.
