1. role:
Key Qualifications
? A genuine passion for embedded software development.
? Proficiency in C/C++.
? Experience developing device drivers
? Experience with debuggers such as gdb, lldb, etc.
? Familiarity with scopes and logic analyzers.
? Able to comprehend hardware specs and schematics.
? Familiarity with standard hardware protocols (usb, uart, spi, i2c, pcie, mipi, hdmi, etc.)
? Familiarity with some form of scripting (bash, perl, python ).
? Ability to deliver on tight schedules.
? Excellent collaborative skills, should be a great team player.
? Outstanding written and verbal communication.
Description
In this role you will implement software and drivers for common firmware interfaces, chipsets, communications protocols and various SoC IPs. You will also implement features to support hardware testing and diagnosis of Apple’s mobile devices, with the goal of training contract manufacturing engineers to fulfill the same role. You’ll work closely with various teams, like EE, Systems Engineering, Hardware Testing, QA, Factory, Manufacturing and Operations. The international travel requirement is 20-25%.
Education
BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
2+ years of industry experience in a similar role.


2. role:
There are three main areas of responsibilities: SW bring-up, Debug and Factory Support.
SW bring-up
Deliverables include:
?SW supporting new and existing platforms
?Integration of existing device drivers for new platforms
?Development of new device drivers
?Development of EFI Diags based commands
?Development of Lua test scripts
?Development of unit and SQA tests
?Development of Torch based math libraries
?Development of tools and scripts to automate build and test functions
?Timely and accurate update of issue tracking software
?Performance benchmarking
?Train and manage hand-off to Ops/CM TEs
?Research specific technologies if required
Debug
Deliverables include:
?Daily analysis of incoming issue reports
?Triage, Debug and correction of issues reported by cross functional teams
Factory Support
Deliverables include:
?Participate in group-wide software review process
?Reporting software bring-up status and results
?Summarize top issues with failure rate, symptom and root cause
?Travel to China to support engineering builds
?Nightly build reports summarizing daily issues and resolutions
?Fluent English required; Chinese a plus
Weekly Reporting
?Provide accurate and complete account of work / hours logged on a weekly basis.
oInclude: Who worked on the project for a given period. What was accomplished?
Other Requirements and Clarifications (All Dates Subject to Change)
?Require three time engineers experienced in embedded SW Engineering
?Travel is a must. TBD on frequency and location.
